Australian Shepherds are a loving, highly intelligent, loyal breed, they are a herding breed which as puppies have herding instinct, and nip and/or bite frequently. Consistent training must be provided along with ample exercise physically and mentally.
I recommend enrolling your puppy in puppy classes with in two weeks of bringing your puppy home. Aussies are an active, intelligent, herding breed that have been bred to have a job. You must be able to provide adequate activity and exercise. Without this your puppy can become bored and a bored puppy leads to problems.
This breed is highly intelligent and learns quickly which makes them fun to train. Venues your Aussie may enjoy: Agility, dock diving, rally, fast cat, obedience, barn hunt, fly ball, and more...I encourage puppy owners to explore these fun activities with your amazing puppy.
Finding a club near you is a great option also.
